This simple test could be a handy tool in several situations when you are trying to get a quick read on a person's attitude. The boss of an Australian accounting software firm always makes the coffee cup test part of every interview. He walks the interviewee to the kitchen and offers them a beverage which they take back to his office. When the meeting is over the most important part of the interview comes into play...what do they do with the coffee cup/beverage container? If they take the coffee cup back to the kitchen they pass,if they leave it they are blacklisted from the company. It makes perfect sense,not only does it show that a person is responsible for themselves it also shows a level of teamwork. All that information for the price of a cup of coffee!
