All American

Leave it to McDonald's to create an All American Burger campaign that is available only in the UK and Ireland. The six burgers in question are only going to be around eight weeks after the May 1st launch date. Though I am not a McDonald's fan these burgers at least sound like they would be worth trying. A New York Bagel Burger:

• New York Stack in a cracking sesame seed bagel – two 100% British and Irish beef burgers with bacon, cheese, creamy coleslaw, tomato ketchup, mustard, lettuce and pickles in a sesame & poppy seed topped bagel. Available from 1st May – 14th May for £4.39

• NEW Alabama Chicken with a smoky BBQ mayo – taking flavours from the state where the skies are so blue, two crispy chicken pieces nestle next to bacon, cheese, crispy onions and seasonal lettuce with a white BBQ sauce and top and tailed in a cornbread style bun. Available from 1st May – 28th May for £4.39.

• NEW Mississippi Stack with a rich & sticky BBQ sauce – grab a taste of the deep south with two 100% British and Irish beef burgers with bacon, mild cheddar, tomato and onion relish, Smokehouse BBQ sauce, red onion and lettuce in a toasted ciabatta style bun. Available from 15th May – 28th May for £4.39

• NEW Nashville Chicken with a spicy ketchup – for a country taste this burger comprises of two pieces of succulent crispy chicken with a sweet and spicy sauce, smoky cheese, coleslaw, jalapenos and lettuce in a toasted cornbread bun. Available from 29th May – 25th June for £4.39

• South Carolina Stack with a Carolina Gold BBQ sauce – another favourite, this tasty burger is made with two 100% British and Irish beef burgers with bacon, smoky cheese, a sweet Carolina sauce, onions and lettuce in a corn bread style bun. Available from 29th May – 11th June for £4.39
• 
• NEW Kansas City Stack with a smoky steakhouse sauce – a long way from home, this burger comprises of two 100% British and Irish beef burgers with bacon, smoky cheese, crispy onions and lettuce with a Steakhouse BBQ sauce in a BBQ flavoured toasted bun. Available from 12th June – 25th June for £4.39

Why? How?

This next big thing is hard to wrap your mind around,why would anyone decide it would be a good look to have excessive nostril hair? and how,unless your'e naturally endowed in the nostril hair department would a person go about it? I know the how part but have no idea on the why unless whoever came up with this idea really loves the look of the star nosed mole,or maybe it was a quest to filter out germs and pollutants and they lacked adequate nostril hair? Back to the how,they are using false eyelashes in lieu of natural nostril hair. At the risk of getting an answer I will ask the purely rhetorical question...What next?

Short and Sweet

This girl shows great potential. When the class was assigned an essay reviewing a film Allyson chose "Fight Club",she wrote 19 words  for a perfect score. For anyone who has seen the movie they would know the girl's essay was the best teaser she could have used. "The first rule of the fight club is you do not talk about the fight club." She then added at the bottom of the page,"That's it. That's the essay." Her teacher warned her to not try this again as it wasn't likely to work out well for her. If there had been a required number of words,it wouldn't have worked out for her,but that wasn't part of the assignment so my conclusion was she got the grade she deserved.

Dying For a Beer

Today's post could be filed under unlikely cures or learning something new and odd. A 48 year old Vietnamese man was admitted to the hospital comatose and in critical condition from drinking too much. The doctors administered 15 cans of beer over a 5 hour period to slow down the metabolism of the methanol. The liver prioritizes ethanol metabolism so by infusing the beer into the man it allowed the methanol to be discharged in his urine. His blood alcohol was 2,100 milligrams per liter,more than 10 times the alcohol poisoning level. The man fully recovered. I don't know what the preferred drink is in Vietnam but alcohol poisoning is common there.

Food Fight

Burger King is jabbing at McDonald's again,this time they have rolled out Mental Health,or Real Meals as opposed to McDonald's Happy Meals. Burger King has partnered with Mental Health America to open conversations about mental health and to reinforce the idea that it is okay to not be okay. The Real Meals include: Pissed Meal,Blue Meal,Don't Give a F--k,Salty Meal and Yaaas Meal. The meals all include a Whopper,fries and a drink. They have also changed the jingle from "have it your way" to "feel your way". I have to agree with Burger King,no one is happy all the time,so take that McDonald's!
