Life's an Illusion

Over the years I have posted several different optical illusions. Many of them claim that what you see first means something about your personality but I've never heard mention of what it means if you see the images simultaneously which seems to happen with some of them. Anyway here's another one for your amusement and the supposed meanings of what you see first.

If you see lips first you are simple and quiet. You like an uncomplicated life and often go with the flow. You are sometimes perceived as naive but you're generally wise and value honesty.
If you see the trees first you are strong and mysterious. You are not the type of person to be pushed around. If you see the roots first you are independent focused and responsible. You have the ability to recognize your mistakes and take constructive criticism.

Attack Squirrel?

It's really hard to decide who is nuttier, the Alabama cops who insist a 35 year old man gave a squirrel meth and turned it into an attack squirrel,or the man who made a video saying that the squirrel was just a little over 10 months old with the personality of an a-hole and he is no doubt mean, but he has not been trained to attack nor has he been given drugs,he said,I'm not sure but I think that would kill him. He went on to say the police were just mad because they busted a house he used to live in and assured animal lovers that the squirrel was fine. He then asked the squirrel to look at the camera and not squeak at him. As with most states it is illegal to keep wild animals as pets in Alabama. Alabama is uncomfortably close to Florida.
Mickey Paulk, left, released a video on Tuesday disputing the local sheriff's office's claims that his squirrel, right, was fed meth to remain aggressive.

Friday Fun

Any setting where a large group is gathered has the potential for disaster, though it seems like weddings top that list, possibly a stress thing. Without further ado I present wedding day dilemmas: One bride had her mother-in-law come to her wedding dressed in a wedding dress (she bought it on sale). The best man told the bride not to marry his best friend, she didn't listen ended up divorced and married to the best man. Another MIL brought platters of food to a catered wedding so her family would have something good to eat. Then there was the three grandmothers who accidentally dressed alike. My favorite is the bride who laughed all the way through the ceremony because her groom had told her he was wearing Spanx under his tux.

Hanging at the Pool

Nice work if you can get it,but wait! that's exactly what Hotel.com is looking for, someone to poolhop the country and research the most epic hotel pools. The job pays $10,000 plus travel and lodging to six hotel pools and then document your experience. If that isn't your idea of a cool summer job maybe the IKEA "happiness hunter" would be more to your liking. It pays the Danish living standard and IKEA meatballs. You would need to live in Denmark for two weeks and try to determine what makes a happy home.

Travel Advisory

So I'm scanning a news site when I come to a screeching halt on a picture of a vibrator knowing I would have to read more. As it turns out it really was a warning to travelers that several countries do not allow anyone to bring sex toys into their country. In the Maldives,Saudi Arabia,United Arab Emirates,Thailand and India sex toys and pornographic items are banned. In Vietnam banned items will be confiscated at customs and can be picked back up when you leave the country. Don't even think a nasty thought in Malaysia! Anything on their forbidden list can land you in prison,a fine or both. Kind of makes me wonder how the trump family got in and out of Saudi Arabia,oh well, never mind.

Love Them or Hate Them Thing?

Does anyone/everyone remember the Spongmonkeys? I don't but I hadn't retired yet when they were a sensation/horror. I was somewhat fascinated by an article about them as I often am about advertising gimmicks. The name is a portmanteau word from spong (which I didn't even know was a word) which means to add large staring eyes with small pupils to an image and of course the word monkey. They were created by a writer/animator one night after he and his brother returned from the pub, made up a song,"We Like the Moon" and recorded it. Quiznos picked it up and it was a featured ad in the 2004 Super Bowl. The Spongmonkeys also made Time Magazines Top 10 creepiest mascots. I'm not sure if this is relevant but Quiznos filed Chapter 11 in 2014 and were down to 800 stores worldwide by 2018.

Prized Pockets

Even if you're not a workout type of person your life will be better for the discovery of leggings with pockets,I'm just afraid I would never take them off if I got a pair.  Leggings are comfortable to begin with but up until now  were missing pockets, but the best part of this discovery was reading what one woman wrote on her Amazon review of the Gym People leggings,oh,and  they sell for $20.99.
