Nothing To See Here

Just another crappy museum,so keep moving along! The Unko (translates to bullshit,or shit) Museum near Tokyo is dedicated to everything poopy,but with a cute twist. Some of the exhibits include:a video introduction,sitting on a non functional toilet and pretending to poop then scooping out the brightly colored souvenir poop to take home,a poop sculpture that erupts every 30 minutes spewing little foam poops,a room filled with pastel colored poops and the word poop written in several languages in neon,a game similar to whack-a-mole where players try to stomp/smash as many poops as they can,a game involving shouting unko as loud as you can signifying the biggest poop,and a soccer game using a controller to kick poop into the goal. If that isn't enough to complete your shitty day there is a gift shop featuring many forms of poop to be purchased. The museum had more than 100,000 visitors the first month.

Rock Stars

The 51st Mackinac (Michigan) Island Annual Stone Skipping Competition took place on July 4th. There are two categories,amateur and professional. Among the pros was a Guinness Record holder who skipped a stone an amazing 88 times! The amateur winner won a Grand Hotel goblet stuffed with $200 for skipping 20 times. Though the Mackinac competition is the longest running there are also competitions in Montana and Alaska. I remember being thrilled if I could skip a stone 4 times and that happened due to finding the perfect stone.

What Year Is It?

If it wasn't for the scary stupid factor some of these things men have said/asked women would be downright funny:
A 30 year old man asked a woman why does it have to be blood that comes out when you have a period?
A woman came home after a week long trip with her girlfriends and her then boyfriend accused her of cheating because she had taken her birth control pills with her.
A woman noticed she had bled a little when having sex and apologized. The man went ballistic and said that was a sign she had given him a STD. He was a Med student.
Last,but not least
An anesthetist made a comment during a C section that women didn't deserve anything for pain when they are  giving birth as they are paying for the sins of Eve. Someone please tell me he was fired,or at least transferred out of maternity. 

Oh Rats!

A traveler from the Ivory Coast was held up going through customs in Chicago when he reported he was carrying 32 lbs of rat meat. This is surprising on many levels though the TSA says it allows frozen meats,seafood,vegetables and other non liquid foods,meat from Africa has to be confiscated to avoid spreading African Swine Fever which could infest our swine population though there is no danger of it spreading to humans. I had trouble getting through customs in Europe because they feared the trail mix I was carrying might contain something nefarious,and never mind fruits and several other items in or out of Hawaii without being properly inspected. But rat meat? Did he not know rats (both human and rodent) are plentiful in this country? and how many rats does it take to get 32 lbs? Once the meat had been seized the man was allowed to leave with no fines.

A Tribute

A 22 year old woman in England has spent $2,754 on Tesco meal deals and has been dubbed the meal deal queen. Before she found her ideal meal she tried several different places but nothing she had really hit the spot. When she finally found her southern fried chicken wrap,cheese and onion crisps and an orange Lucozade she decided she would eat that meal every day for the rest of her life and to honor her favorite meal with a tattoo of it on her leg. I'm wondering what will happen if she gets sick of the meal? She has had it every day for 2 years now and since peoples tastes change over time I'm thinking it will eventually fall out of favor. Oh well,I guess the tat could serve as a conversation starter..."Oh,that was of my favorite meal that I ate for over 2 years".

Just Saying

TSA is one of those semi-necessary services that are for the most part tolerated because there is no other option,but the curious part about the TSA is it wasn't formed until 11/19/2001 after the 9/11 attacks. Now let's look back into airline history to 11/24/71 when a passenger purchased a ticket under the name of D.B. Cooper. During the short flight he showed what he claimed to be dynamite to a stewardess and made his meager demands for $200,000 and 4 parachutes. Most of us recall or have since read about the rest of the story but 2 other people tried the same approach within months of Cooper and failed. The only change in security was making it impossible to open the rear door of  a 727 while in flight. The point of this brief look at TSA history is what was the 30 year holdup about? and what does carrying drinking water have to do with anything?

Foodies Month

This month  is Cell Phone Courtesy Month,though probably no one will look up to notice. It's hard to believe this year is over the half way mark,oh well,lots of food days this month so enjoy!
