Some Good

There's no denying that the deaths this pandemic has caused are horrendous and it is nearly beyond belief that something like this could happen in this day and age. The good news is that this virus has made a few good things happen as well, environmentally in just the short time it has been ravaging human lives the lack of "regular" human activities has seen pollution dropping and today in the local paper there was a promising story about the local orca population. The whales seem to be bouncing back without all the pleasure boats, whale watching excursions and cruise ships that cause interruptions in their ability to communicate among themselves. The researchers are collecting sample of whale poop with the help of a dog named Eba who is trained to sniff out the scat so it can be collected and studied. Now if officials would shut down salmon fishing, except for tribal purposes, for a year so the whale's food supply could replenish they might be able to rebuild their population, they are down to 73. Maybe nature is doing a reset since humans seem unable to do that  on their own.

Food To Go-Go

The Lucky Devil Lounge,a strip club in Portland,OR had to close their doors in March due to the Corona virus and was ineligible for relief because it was an adult business. The quick thinking owner decided he couldn't just leave his employees up in the air so he shifted gears and became Lucky Devil Eats,he further innovated the take out to include dancers who deliver the food to the cars after the drivers slowly drive to the delivery point amid disco lights and music. Everyone has their temperature checked daily to insure they are in good health and the dancers wear masks and enough clothes to make it family/Instagram friendly.  That my friends is the Oregon spirit!
Motorists can watch the dancers perform before collecting their food
Tips are collected in a bucket at the drive thru strip club

2 X Record Holder

A 34 year old Colombian man received the World's Shortest Man (mobile) for the second time in his life after winning the title in 2010 at the height of 2 ft. 3.64 he was replaced by a man in Nepal who stood at 2 ft. 2.41 who was later lost the title to a fellow Nepal man measuring 1 ft. 9.5. Edward received his second Guinness certificate at a medical clinic in his home town earlier this year before social distancing guidelines were in place. He says his smile is his secret weapon.
“I use my smile to conquer the world! I always share my big smile with everyone; that’s my charm. I can achieve everything I propose to myself,” Hernández said in the release. “Everything is possible. … Size and height don’t matter! I want people to meet who I truly am: small in size, big in heart!”
Those vertically challenged among you take heed!

In the Toilet

People were all worked up over a listing for a studio apartment in Sydney,Australia because the bathroom had glass walls and was renting for $380 a week ($247 US). The price does seem a little steep, but that may have to do with location. I can't figure out why it was the bathroom that bothered everyone, since it is a studio that pretty much implies a single person or a couple but people seemed to think the bathroom would make it awkward for having people over. How would you have people over when there is nowhere for them to sit, other than on the bed or the one chair? Plus other than what looks like a microwave I didn't see a cooking utility which would have been my concern and no storage for either food or clothes and at that price for rent I wouldn't think eating all meals out would be an option. Also from traveling to Australia I know not all places offer private bathrooms,so even having one with glass walls, next to both the kitchen and the bedroom seem like more of a plus than a minus.

Good Dog

As part of a two  week trial Singapore has deployed remote control robodogs to warn people in parks and public areas to stay at least a meter apart. Oddly the devices were made by Boston Dynamics and instead of barking in a commanding local dialect the machine  softly speaks English in a female voice reminding people to " Keep Singapore healthy." "For your own safety and those around you, please stand at least one meter apart. Thank you." The yellow and black robodog is called Spot,Spot has a counter part who looks like a small car who patrols a reservoir and reminds people not to loiter and that gatherings are not allowed. They are also fitted with cameras to estimate the number of people visiting their areas, though the cameras are not designed to track individuals and do not record personal data.

Slightly Disabled

The topic of today's post reminds me of a joke, but it would be inappropriate to include...actually this whole post may be a little inappropriate but since we have all been getting edgy I'm going to go out on a limb and go ahead with it. There are three men who all have trouble either finding work or being able to actually perform various jobs because of the sizes of their penises. The first is a wannabe actor who can't get parts because the directors are distracted by his penis. The second man is continually harassed in stores because they think he is stuffing things done his pants, and he even had to disrobe once to prove it was only his penis. The third man claims the world largest penis at 18 inches and not only does it disable him in many ways he says it is also impossible to get laid.

Nailed It

A 56 year old Ohio woman retired from her job as an account specialist after having a double mastectomy and accidentally discovering a group of people who shared a nail fetish. She always enjoyed keeping her nails nice and included pictures of them on her blog one day. Suddenly she was getting requests for more photos and some for videos showing her popping bubble wrap with her toenails. She saw an opportunity to make a little money while she was recovering from the cancer and at $12 a pop for 10 minute videos she realized she wouldn't need to return to work. I'm thinking she also saves a lot of money from only wearing sandals and not buying socks!
Arinda's toenails are now so long, she has stopped measuring them
Arinda Storm Weaver, 56, from Columbus, Ohio has revealed how breast cancer led her into the world of 'long nailed beauty'
Arinnda has to wear sandals most of the time as it's difficult to fit her toenails into any other kind of footwear
Arinda can't wear anything with buttons and has given up driving as she can't manage the petrol pump with her nails
Arinda has filmed herself popping bubble wrap with her toenails for an admirer
Strangers often approach Arinda to ask if they can take pictures of her nails
