Fefe Frou Frou

Fefe is the name of Domenico Dolce, of Dolce & Gabbana, beloved dog and is also the name of the new perfume for dogs they have developed. The alcohol free mist combines the scents of Ylang Ylang, Musk, and Sandalwood. The fragrance comes in a green lacquered bottle with a red cap and a 24 carat gold plated paw print costing $108.13. Care must be taken when applying to scent to keep it away from the dogs face, it is recommended to spray it on your hands then rub it into the coat from the shoulders to the tail. I can see someone like Paris Hilton using this but I think most pet owners enjoy the individual scent of their dogs something like how pheromones attract people to one another so why not keep things natural?

Hurt to Think?

In a word we're doomed! Okay maybe that's two words but the end result remains the same. In a study of 4,670 participants from 29 countries and various occupations/backgrounds people relate mental exertion with negative feelings, including irritation and frustration, the only exceptions were a handful of Asians which they thought might point to their schooling beginning at a young age and being intensive though they still experienced discomfort from mental tasks. For those of you not reading between the lines this really will throw the door wide open for AI...we're doomed! Enjoy thinking while you're still able!

The Naked City

This is an actual city not the TV show from the late 1950s, it is called El Fonoll and is a replica of a medieval village in northeastern Spain. The naturist village became habitable again in 1998, complete nudity is required is the first rule and respect for all ideologies. The village is self contained having hotels, campsites, restaurants, a cinema, homes and activities. Paella for everyone is a popular feature on Sundays and though photos are generally prohibited there is a group photo of the event with instructions to turn your head away if you don't wish to be recognized. A little contradictory exception to the rule.

The Taxman

Remember the Beatles song where the taxman taxes your seat and your feet? Britain in 1696 decided they needed more money for the military and put a tax on windows based on the amount of windows in the home, 30 years prior they had tried taxing chimneys (they'll tax the heat!) but people rebelled by bricking up or dismantling the chimneys which is eventually what people started doing with the window tax. The tax was eventually repealed in 1851 but the impact is still evident in the older buildings. Think the window tax is odd? Italy has a shadow tax imposed on businesses if their signs make shadows, as far as I know it is still being collected though I didn't see any current articles saying one way or another.

Leaked Menu

For the Starbucks enthusiasts out there the fall menu has been leaked to give you a sneak preview of the coming offerings. Of course it includes the done to death Pumpkin Spiced Latte in hot, iced and frap forms, Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai, Iced Apple Crisp Cream Chai, Oatmilk Iced Apple Crisp Shaken Espresso, and Oatmilk Apple Crisp Macchiato. New for food is Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin, Baked Apple Croissant, and Raccoon Cake Pop. The projected drop date is August 22.

Hot Dog!

It's summer and time to get serious about hot dogs, some hot dog aficionados got together to compare 24 brands to come up with the best. I will not list all 24 making it an ungainly task to compare the dogs instead I will list the top 5 and a surprising turkey dog that got good marks for those who prefer that kind of thing.
