Holiday Drink Guide

Good old Google compiled a list of the most popular drinks in each state from search data so there's really no hard facts behind their data other than what people searched but there's no way to tell why. Maybe they just wanted to know what the ingredients were and there are surely several other possibilities as to why those drinks were Googled. With that disclaimer stated on with the Google findings.  Oh, and what about a Peppermint Patty? Not a single state Googled that winter drink?

Brown??

The color of the year for 2025 has been announced and it is Mocha Mousse, which seems like an odd choice considering the various turmoils of the past year. According to the board that makes the choice the color represents serenity, warmth, and comfort. In 2023 they chose magenta, in 2024 it was peach which  they thought represented a celebratory sense after finally putting COVID in the rearview mirror. Pantone has been selecting color of the year since 1999, the selection process involves an international team who look at consumer data from fashion, design, culinary and auto industries. With that criteria in mind how did they end up with brown? Have you seen many mocha colored cars? or food?

Dogtecture

A show in Milan is displaying the latest in doghouses designed by renown architects. The whole concept is kind of odd unless you happen to be Paris Hilton or someone like her who seems to spend just to show she has money as for the "houses" themselves they don't really look like something a dog would choose. Dogs are denning animals and tend to like closed in spaces that make them feel safe and none of the ones pictured have that feel/look about them, but hey if Armani can throw in with Poldo Dog Couture then bring on the Doggy McMansions.

Mayo With That?

Japan is big on mayo, they not only use it on sandwiches but also on pizza and sushi. Now a Japanese convenience store chain is introducing Nomu Mayo, a drinkable form of mayo. In test sales reviews have been mixed which isn't too surprising as people tend to be either fanatically pro-mayo or anti-mayo. At any rate I doubt it will make it to the states so there's no need to worry either way.

More Better?

Humans have a habit of messing with nature that seldom turns out to be a good thing. This includes animals, they have tinkered with the physical traits they wanted without regard how those exaggerated traits would affect the animals general health to the point that some breeds can no longer do the jobs they were originally intended to do. For instance the Bulldog's muzzle was shortened to allow it to breath while it was clamped onto a bull but has led to the dogs having breathing problems and an intolerance for heat, they were also bred to be stockier which has made them prone to hip dysplasia. Every purebred dog today is less healthy than their ancestors thanks to humans making things better...or not. The following are before and after examples.
