The Peeps debate continues as Easter draws near but wait, now you can like them without having to eat them! This seems like the perfect thing to do with the nasty little critters, what's that you ask? They are being used for artistic expression in the annual PEEPshow for the last 10 years. The entries total 151 so far this year and can be voted on for $1 online from now until April 19th with proceeds going to the Carroll County Arts Council in Maryland. The shelf life if you intend to eat Peeps is 2 years but the sculptures seemingly last forever,or at least ten year as some sculptures from the first PEEPshow are still intact.

Fevered Imagination
The knitting and crocheting grandmas out there will get a kick out of today's post,in fact it may even prompt some of you to recreate the blanket in question. In defense of the grandma's handiwork I looked around at some shark blanket pictures and found one that turned out the same way as the one she made for her grandson,so the debate remains was it an intentional design or did someone really not think it through? I will point out that it looks like the fin is pointing the wrong way. Armed with that information and the photos supplied I will leave it up to you to decide.

Swim Away Dining
I'm not sure if today's post belongs under dumb criminals or dumb idea for publicity stunt gone wrong. An Australian rapper,Terry Peck, aka 2pec, decided he would just swim off after consuming $621 worth of food and drinks at Omeros Bros. Restaurant. I understand the waiting a half an hour before swimming after a meal isn't really a valid concern anymore, but what if you consumed 2 lobsters,17 oyster shooters,a baby octopus and several Coronas? I'm pretty sure I would be too full to swim, but that didn't stop 2pec. The authorities chased him down on jet skis and charged him with theft and assault. 2pec claimed he left the restaurant because a friend of his had went into labor on the beach. No one mentioned if a person in labor was found anywhere in the area.

Chip Off the Old Bat
Another new twist on the designer brewing front,Georgia based Terrapin Beer Company will be offering the new Chopsecutioner Bat Wood Aged IPA along with three other ball park exclusives when the Braves play their first game in the new ball park. After fermentation takes place the beer is transferred to age on wood chips which are left over from the process of making bats. Chopsecutioner is a lighter beer than their traditional ball park offering (7.3% alcohol) which makes it easier to drink while sitting in the hot sun without getting drunk off the first beer,I guess that would make it considerably easier to remember the final score! Knowing how some of these beers are named makes me wonder what the secret ingredient is in Dead Guy Ale.

Truth in Advertising
I'm thinking this 44 year old man went out for St. Patrick's Day and lost track of time as he was arrested on March 19th and along with the message on his T-shirt you'll also notice what looks like a shamrock in the letter R. Police in Newville,Pennsylvania noticed a green Ford pickup making multiple traffic violations. After the man was taken into custody a blood draw showed his blood alcohol to be three times over the limit (.217%). He was awarded a DUI of the highest rate (they have a graduated DUI program which is determined by how high a person's blood alcohol is) not to mention driving on a suspended license, and several other traffic violations. It seems like this is a continuing trend with DUIs that the higher the blood alcohol the more likely they are a repeat offender.

Do the Math
Today's post reminds me a lot of some recent decisions made by a certain president who is supposedly a genius businessman, and since he is of Scottish decent on his mother's side and this story took place in Scotland it may just explain how his thought process works.
A 58 year old woman who suffers from multiple sclerosis had her motability car benefit taken away by the Department of Work and Pensions. She had used the leased car to drive the 33 miles to work and back. By denying her the car they saved $9,905 (every 3 years) but in order to ensure she had a way to continue working they offered to pay cab fare which amounted to $80,479 per year. Are you scratching your head yet?

Poop Privilege
This idea is sheer genius! A zoo in China is making some extra money by offering an educational experience, for $145 a person can be a polar bear keeper for 3 hours once a week. Before a person can participate they must undergo a health check and a training session. Once they began work they can prepare the bear food, feed the bears but the main duty is cleaning up the bear poop. This made me wonder what polar bears are fed in captivity since their preferred diet of seals is presumably missing, what I found out is they get seal meat whenever possible but are generally fed mackerel, chicken and a variety of other meats. In the wild they only eat every 4-5 days as a seal will hold them for around 11 days. I think if I were to take part in a similar program I would rather be around giraffes or zebras since they aren't carnivores.
