Even though the 2020 Olympics have been postponed they deserve recognition for their innovative thinking. The furnishings for the athletes apartment complexes are recyclable. The bed frames are made out of high test cardboard that can hold up to 440 lbs and will be remade into paper. The mattresses are made of recycled plastics and can be adjusted to three different settings,they will be remade as plastic products. If you think of the 18,000 beds involved that is really a huge dent in a potentially wasteful event. The buildings will be sold as apartments with most of them being larger than the average apartments most of the population lives in.
