Either you read and remembered in my post on the 1st that today is International Women's Day or maybe you've seen or heard another reference to it. Good old Burger King launched an ad campaign in the UK saying "Women belong in the kitchen." People immediately began losing their minds and demanding Burger King take down the ad,but had they held onto their shorts they would have seen that it was all orchestrated to show how only 20% of the chefs in the industry were female and they not only wanted to draw attention to that lack of representation but they are also offering scholarships to their female employees who want to pursue a career in the culinary arts. Well played Burger King! The ad did exactly what they wanted it to,draw attention to women being left out of the kitchen.
If they want to, of course. Yet only 20% of chefs are women. We're on a mission to change the gender ratio in the restaurant industry by empowering female employees with the opportunity to pursue a culinary career. #IWD
