Normally

Most days I would be out for a walk at this time but I'm still waiting for my computer to come home. The guy said he had an appointment at 11 and would call and come by shortly thereafter,still no word. Another thing that grinds me is all this problem revolves around Microsoft,way back when Windows 10 came out they hijacked my computer (Windows 7) and downloaded Windows 10 without my consent. Shortly after that the first problem happened and it was because of Windows 10,so I took it to the computer shop and they took it off (at my expense) and things were normal until this latest go around which also goes back to when they downloaded 10 making McAfee incompatible with the computer because it now didn't match with what they were trying to update. I don't know if this makes sense to anyone but me,but there you have it.
An unrelated thought: wouldn't it be easier for people who are color blind if traffic light were alphabetical from top to bottom instead of having to remember that red is on top?

It's a Snap

The weekend edition of our local paper featured an article about Carlsberg's Beer innovative redesigning of a six pack. Instead of the rings which have caused numerous problems with wildlife and sea creatures they developed the snap pack where a glue is used to hold the cans together. Though it isn't specifically mentioned I imagine it must be kind of like rubber cement. What a huge step this is in reducing both plastic use and the damage done by plastics. That calls for a Carlsberg,probably the world's best beer!  (Both saying are either current or one time marketing campaigns.)

It Started as a Joke

Bacon and egg ice cream was a joke on a British comedy called "The Two Ronnies" back in 1973,but since that time it has turned into a flavor that has caught on. In 1982 it was made as an April Fools Day joke at a New York beef and ice cream parlor and from there it has either been found disgusting or delightful. Unlike the Japanese seafood flavored ice creams I would be willing to try bacon and egg ice cream and in fact may look for it at the store since Ben and Jerry's have it in their repertoire,though it may not be available locally. I will keep you posted if I find it.
 Computer guy came and spent about an hour but didn't have any better luck than I did unless it was in safe mode. In safe mode everything works fine. He took it with him and will work on it over the weekend.

It's Here...Almost

Earlier this week I mentioned the Jetson's flying car in a post and guess what,a man in the Philippines  did a test flight on his flying car after six years of working on his invention.  The vehicle reached heights of around 25 feet when the weather finally permitted it to become airborne. The car operates on drone/multi-copter technology and the inventor is now seeing investors about mass production. Originally he had wanted the body to be that of a sports car but materials and design didn't work out that way. I would still prefer the type of flying car in the J.D. Robb books,but who know what may be waiting around the corner?

Small Rant

I woke up at 3 something this morning which in itself is not that unusual however I noticed it was brighter than normal and as I became more conscious I realized it was because my computer monitor was on in the living room meaning that an automatic update (read automatic downgrade) was taking place. Why is it that the monitor comes on for this chat between computers? It's not as if they can see each other or need it to take care of their task,but I digress. Morning comes and as I start my day it becomes apparent that whatever my computer learned at three in the morning has adversely affected it making any regular task impossible without crashing. I finally give up and break out my laptop and since it's been awhile since it's been used it keeps interrupting every few seconds telling me of needed upgrades,acting like an unruly child in a store. I finally break down and let it get its upgrades and now it too is prone to crashing. Does anyone else have these problems with upgrades or am I an isolated case?

Just Think

Time for some more random thoughts:
Getting a dog is like getting a happiness loan that is paid back in ten years with sadness.
Childhood is wanting the Jetson's flying car. Adulthood is wanting the Jetson's cleaning,cooking robot.
These new cars with pedestrian recognition and automatic braking would be pretty useless in a zombie apocalypse.
Flat earthers must be afraid that meteorites could hit the earth from underneath.
Your accent is your mouth's font.
Us humans want peace so bad, we'll fight for it.
A doctor who is out of patience will soon be out of patients.

Surf City

The 13th annual Surf Dog Surf-a-Thon drew more than 70 dogs and owners to raise money for the Helen Woodward Animal Center a dog and cat adoption center located in San Diego. The dogs are divided by weight and ride in 10 minute heats. They are judged on wave shredding skills and surf spirit by a panel of surfers and enthusiasts who eventually choose a "Best in Surf",the event is sponsored by Blue Buffalo pet foods. Great idea to raise funds for the less fortunate pets and it appears to be enjoyed by all involved.
