Mushroom Power

Scientists have developed a waterless toilet that separates solid and liquid waste using the root system of mushrooms. Called the Mycotoilet it is odor absorbing and produces 2000 liters of fertilizer and soil a year. The toilet is currently in use at the University of BC  botanic gardens. The same people have also found a way to include a packet of fungi in diapers that breaks them down in the landfill. Mushrooms have been theorized to be able to break down virtually anything produced by our society including nuclear waste. Maybe we won't have to move to Mars after all!
