In the era of 1905 to 1915 around 900 million postcards were mailed in the US also called the golden age of postcards. Around that same time Halloween was developing its symbols with about 3000 different designs produced in that period alone, so it was a natural marriage of the symbols and the cards. Today people aren't sending nearly that amount of cards due to the higher postage cost and saving on paper products to maintain our forests. Enjoy this glimpse back into the past.
