Stop! Thief!

To say seagulls are opportunistic diners is a gross understatement. They've been called rats with wings but in all fairness rats are more selective about their diet, gulls on the other hand are evolving to incorporate a more urban lifestyle. As their marine diet becomes both more scarce and sometimes infested with parasites they have learned to watch humans to see what they eat and what they leave behind. They also know when children are in school or off on a weekend, garbage truck routes and other observable information that helps them with their foraging skills. As the marine diet began to fail their needs both the amount and size of eggs they laid were smaller though they seem to be balancing out now that they can score a few Big Macs for their protein needs.
