Forget Fluoride

Concerns have grown over both sustainability and long term fluoride use prompting researchers to look for ecofriendly biomaterials to replace the chemical. What they've found is keratin, the protein in hair, skin, and wool, not only stops early decay but also can repair tooth enamel. Currently fluoride slows enamel erosion and decay, keratin based products stopped it completely. The treatment could be used daily as a toothpaste or applied to targeted areas with a gel by a professional. The bad news is the product is still 2-3 years out for development.
