A gang of monkeys who inhabit the Uluwatu Temple in Bali predate the tourists who come to watch the fire dances and stunning sunsets. Before stealing from the tourists they preyed upon visitors who came for religious ceremonies. There are monkey handlers on hand to help negotiate the return of the stolen items but often times things are broken by the time they are returned. The monkeys have figured out which things the tourist value the most and target cell phones and prescription glasses. To facilitate the return bags of fruit are offered to the point where they have to drop the stolen goods in order to be able to carry off their bribes, proving crime does pay.
