Talk Much?

Many cultures believe women talk more than men though research shows a different story. A study from 2007 found both sexes speak around 16,000 per day, which seems really high, but again what do I know? In a more recent and finely tuned study they split the study into age groups and found that in the group of women from ages 25-65 actually did talk more than males in that same age group by about 3,000 words per day. Of course the why of women talking more in that age group isn't known for sure though the researchers suggest it may be related to child rearing. The least talkative person in the study was a man at 100 words while the most talkative was also male at 120,000 per day. On the whole both sexes are talking less probably due to texting and social media.
