New Orleans residents have been tracking a local white terrier rescue dog named Scrim. He was saved by his rescuer the first time in early 2024 but broke lose in April and was on the run while being recorded on various security cameras until October. He was examined after his return and had possible pellet gun projectiles embedded in his skin, abrasions and a rip in his ear. His next escape involved jumping from a second story window in November and again being tracked around the city by cameras though this time he also survived a hurricane, 10 inches of snow, fireworks, street cars, cars, Mardi Gras, and a Super Bowl. Once he is fully recovered he has a new home lined up with plenty of outdoor space and other dogs. It seems like he should get a new name as well so he doesn't continue to seek a scrimmage...maybe Survivor would be good?
