I often feature unlikely new food flavors brought out by tried and true traditional offerings and have wondered why they were bringing these sometimes bizarre renditions to the public. Today I found an answer to the question of not only the why but also the who. The who portion of the answer goes to Gen Z as they are diverse, adventurous and pick up on new food trends quickly. The why is mainly profit driven though it also gives their product development people an opportunity to exercise their creativity. In the business they're known as shock flavors. Now for a partial list of upcoming limited time offerings that may or may not become a regular product. Skittles Oreos, Kraft Mac & Cheese ice cream, Turkey Dinner Candy Corn, and chili lime Pop Tarts to name a few.
