Police were literally running a fowl in downtown Nashville,TN trying to catch a chicken before it crossed the road to its possible death. They were finally able to lure the chicken into their custody by offering it a Little Debbie Oatmeal Cream Pie. Good thing they didn't try using anything chocolate as chocolate is toxic to birds. Animal Control is caring for the chicken until it is turned over to a rescue group. A few year ago there was a chicken at large for several weeks in our town but it eluded all attempts at capture until the owner finally returned for it. Unbeknownst to the owner the bird had hitched a ride in the back of the owners pickup for a chance to visit the big city and its absence wasn't nocited until someone mentioned the bird in the local paper.
