If you guessed Elvis you guessed right. Today I have some Elvis trivia for your enjoyment. Elvis is the second most paid deceased celebrity,he made $39 million in 2019 behind Michael Jackson at $60 million. The iconic jump suits that he wore weighed between 25-30 lbs with one of the more elaborate suits weighing in at 75 lbs. The American Eagle suit cost $65,000 and would be 4 times as much to make today. Elvis was a natural blonde until his late teen years when his hair started to darken. He used shoe polish to darken his hair when he first started performing, after some successes he used a combination of Miss Clairol 51D and Black Velvet, and Mink Brown by Paramount. Elvis was also a seventh degree black belt in Karate.

Pretty in Avocado
In case you're confused by the title it's because there are numerous questions regarding using avocado pits to dye natural fabrics pink. First of all why would someone decide to boil avocado pits? Then decide,"hey I think I will use this water to dye my old T-shirt!" Then again maybe I'm prejudice when it comes to pink. If you want to try this dye job just to be doing something you'll need to rinse however many pits you want to use,the more pits the darker the pink. Then cover them in water, put a lid on the pot and boil until the water turns a ruby red,let that steep overnight. Thoroughly saturate the items you wish to dye, leave them sit for 8 hours then rinse and run through a quick wash cycle.

Milking It
I was surprised to learn that sunburn treatment is as close as your fridge and it isn't butter which at one time was recommended for burns but has been debunked and found to actually worsen burns. The surprising part is the mystery treatment is milk which though directly related to butter lacks the fat content. Vitamins A and D,as well as amino acids, lactic acid, protein and casein found in milk combine to make both a soothing and healing sunburn treatment. There is no need to bath in milk it can be applied by soaking a cloth in a bowl of cold milk, then placing it on the burned area to work its magic. Another possible bonus would be becoming attractive to cats...or not depending on their mood.

Community Service
A stray dog in the country of Georgia has developed a symbiotic relationship with the locals. The canine makes sure the children safely cross the road to the school by standing and barking at the cars until the children are clear, then the dog crosses behind them to make sure no one darts into the traffic. In return for this self taught labor of love the community have adopted the dog and keep it fed and sheltered. The animal is known as Kursha by most people though is also known by a few other names as well. It seemed like a good time for a feel good post,so I hope it is enjoyed by all.

Water Babies
I didn't know babies under six months old shouldn't have water so I thought other people might not know either and might need to know with warmer weather coming on. Experts warn parents that babies should never have water but should get all their hydration from milk or formula as giving them water takes up room in their small stomachs that is needed to absorb enough nutrition. If that isn't bad enough water can also lead to water intoxication which creates an imbalance of electrolytes that can cause kidney failure, swelling of the brain and seizures. So keep the adults hydrated with water but give the babies milk instead, up to a year old.

The Nose Knows
Here they come to save to day! Super sniffers are on their way or at least they're being tested and trained to sniff out the Corona-virus and that is good news in several ways. First of all it would be noninvasive and each dog can screen up to 250 people per hour making them the perfect tool for high density areas like airports. Dogs have been used to sniff out more than bombs, explosives and drugs, they have also been deployed to find malaria and cancers. Once they are trained to detect the Covid 19 in saliva and urine they will next tackle finding it the whole person and there will be endless uses for them until we can finally put this virus behind us.

Getting Your Goat
I'm not entirely sure what is going on with this story, but as often is the case with odd happenings it is taking place in Florida so that may be the extent of any feasible explanation. A woman filed suit on a neighbor who she bought five Nigerian dwarf goats from for $900,now this is where it stops making sense, she wanted either DNA from the goat's father so she could get them registered or her money back. The neighbor has already offered to take the goats back and give her a refund but the woman with the goats has even gone so far as to trespass on her neighbors property trying to collect 40 hairs from the male goat to prove or disprove paternity. I could be totally messed up but it sounds to me like there is more going on here, for instance why not give her the 40 hairs and call it good? unless that father wasn't really the father, which still does nothing to explain why the woman who bought the goats didn't take the offer of a refund then turned around and sued for the same thing...oh well, like I said,it's Florida.

Hats Off
I wonder if Sierra Tequila are questioning the intelligence of their customers since one of them finally figured out that the cute sombrero that comes on top of the bottle is not just a decoration. It actually has several uses,it can be used to measure a shot,it is also useful as a holder for salt to salt the rim of your shot glass plus it can also be used to squeeze the juice out of a lime. Now that word is out people will probably start saving the sombreros so they have one for each use...or they could just buy three bottles at once, either way would work!

Talk This Way
Believe it or not something like this happened to me in the 1980s so I found this woman's story both fascinating and bewildering. A 31 year old woman in the UK was having headaches, then she started speaking with a deeper voice which then slowed and slurred causing her coworkers to think she had a stroke. She was examined at a hospital and they determined she was fine health wise but now she was unable to speak at all. A neurologist told her to take a vacation and relax. A few days into the vacation she was able to speak again, though now she has several different accents,Russian,French,Polish and Italian even though she had never spoke a foreign language before. In March of this year she was diagnosed with Foreign Accent Syndrome and though she is working with a speech therapist it is unknown if she will regain her normal speech.

Big Bang
Notice how it's not "The" big bang, this bang was brought about by a combination of the Oregon Highway Dept. and the Navy in 1970. A 45 foot sperm whale had washed up on the beach in Florence,OR and it was wrongly decided that the best course of action was to use a half a ton of explosives to blow it up allowing other creatures to clean up the smaller pieces. It didn't work in a most spectacular way and managed to coat everyone and everything in the vicinity with whale blubber and other decaying parts, but I digress. In honor of the event a new state park as been named "Exploding Whale Memorial Park". Out of 124 suggested names submitted by the community "Exploding Whale" won by a landslide...or maybe that should be a blubber slide?

Long Road Ahead
Maybe it's white privilege rearing its ugly head but I was unaware that skin whitening was a big thing is Asian countries. It's also not just the women that feel the need to stay both out of the sun and apply possibly harmful formulas to their skin, the men also long for whiteness. Part of the reasoning is that the darker their skin the more it speaks of them working in fields or other menial labor, the other is the white skin people dominate their cultures as examples of success. Meanwhile back in the white skinned venue white skinned people are busily paying to get their skin darker. Enough to make a person wonder why people are so obsessed with their looks when inside we're all the same.

Death Defying
Today's post might be filed under "learn something new" for most of us,though there's always the chance that I'm the only one who's never heard of the Immortal Jellyfish. This interesting little guy as an adult is only 0.18-0.4 inches in diameter but the size is nothing compared to the fact that they truly are immortal. They avoid death from old age or severe wounds by reverting back to their polyp stage plus in the process of reverting back they also create clones. My next question is how many scientists are studying this puppy and how long until their findings can be applied to human/animal suffering?
