Discrimination?

Has anyone ever wondered why felines got a pass when leash laws were established? That may be coming to an end as a council in Western Australia has banned cats from several areas unless accompanied by a human and on a leash. The idea is to protect wildlife and the cats themselves from being hit by cars and other hazards of being alone outside. At first it sounds like government involvement where it isn't needed but if you think about it it begins to make sense, not only would it protect the cats and the wildlife it would also cut down on feral cat populations eventually. Not to mention clearing up the canine discrimination issue by making  felines subject to the same leash laws.
