Even though some fetuses start out with tails in a nod to our heritage most simply turn in to the tailbone and that is the end of the tail,though a 16 year old in India was not only born with a hairy tail but it has never dropped off or ceased growing. His parents traveled in search of treatment for the tail but no one wanted to remove it. They eventually consulted a priest who suggested he may be the reincarnation of Lord Hanuman,the God of Monkeys and that the boy might possess supernatural powers. He also told them to quit looking for ways to cut the over 27 inch tail and to let it continue to grow naturally. Since that time the boy has said he feels good about his tail now and the parents are no longer seeking treatments.
