In the US there are cherry pit spitting contests, watermelon seed spitting and even plum pits with the common thread being they are things that belong in your mouth before you spit the seed/pit out. In other parts of the world they have spitting competitions with things not normally put in the mouth, like kudu dung in South Africa, and sheep dung in Ireland. According to contestants it is important to choose older, drier dung as to avoid the taste plus it can be spit further, oh and some say the secret is soaking the dung pellet in a shot of alcohol before putting it in your mouth. The world record in kudu dung spitting is 15.56 meters.
