March 9,1961 was the launching of Sputnik 9 carrying a space dummy...and speaking of space dummies,no only joking! If you have ever thought it would be cool to go on a space flight there are a few things that you might want to know first. If you wear a spacesuit with gloves chances are you will lose your fingernails and have other hand injuries as they haven't found a way to simulate the earth's pressure in the gloves. Other maladies astronauts encounter include: blood and bone problems due to low gravity,motion sickness as the inner ear reacts to the low gravity,hearing loss,increased levels of radiation,and if all that doesn't bother you how about we throw in mental health?? When it comes to being launched into space I think I would rather take my chances with space debris right here on good old planet Earth!
