The weather predicting critters are all in agreement this year which in itself may be a first! Phil made his prediction from The east coast for an early spring. Snohomish Slew the Pacific Northwest weather predicting frog concurred but his ceremony took place the last Saturday of January,the official date for his frognostications. Slew's predictions are based on Native American beliefs and the ability to read nature's signs. Velda the resident hedgehog weather expert at the Portland Zoo concurred on the early spring prediction. Animals used to predict the weather on February 2nd in other parts of the world include bears for Serbia,Hungary and Romania. In 2009 legislation was signed in Alaska making the marmot the official weather predictor for February 2nd. For those of you longing for an early spring it is looking good!
