Misplaced Bling

Popeye's fast food joint went hog wild to celebrate opening their 3,000th location. They created boneless chicken wings with champagne batter and gold flakes with honey dipping sauce also featuring gold flakes. The reactions were mixed as there was no noticeable difference in flavor though some customers thought the bling gave the food a sense of luxury. Things like this tend to piss me off when most fast food joints claim they can't afford to pay their workers more than minimum wage with no benefits but feel fine about offering a gold flaked chicken wings meal for $5. I wonder if they at least offer the employees the celebratory meal for free? Nah,probably not...they couldn't afford it.
Luxurious! Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen celebrated the opening of its 3,000th location by debuting champagne-battered, gold-coated chicken wings
Bling: The gold chicken wings were served in Popeyes' usual white and orange paper packaging along with a dipping sauce that was also speckled with gold flakes
And yes — the $5 fast-food fried chicken contains real gold.
Gold doesn't actually add any flavor to the food, just a certain sense of luxury.
