May Have Side Effects

Apparently the US isn't the only country with less than reputable pharmaceutical companies. Several batches of a medication for indigestion were contaminated with a medication for hair growth resulting in the children who had been using the drug to develop hypertrichosis, aka werewolf syndrome. The symptoms should subside when the medication is stopped though I'm guessing the mental effects may last longer. The Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products have withdrawn over 22 batches of the drug but still are cautioning parents to report to a doctor if their children exhibit symptoms. The adult dosage of the medication wasn't affected.

A family suffering from a rare genetic condition in which hair grows all over the face arrived in the Nepalese capital of Kathmandu on Sunday for treatment of their "werewolf-like" appearance. Devi Budhathoki, 37, her daughters, aged 13 and five, and 12-year-old son say they have endured constant humiliation because of hypertrichosis, which causes hair to sprout between their eyes and across their brows.
