Actually Richard is one lucky cat and in case you were wondering he has no connection to the Almanac (Poor Richard's). A couple decided they wanted to adopt a cat so they went to the local shelter which is always a good place to start. They fell in love with a cat that had been passed over many times because of his unusual markings which look like a penis. Having a sense of humor they named him Richard,or Dick for short. Most of their friends and family also found it humorous except for the sister-in-law who thought the name was inappropriate and a disservice to the cat and his feelings,she went on to say it was a form of abuse. Yes,they really do walk among us.
