Rolling

Have any of you ever wondered how George Lucas came up with the iconic (read weird) hairdo for Princess Leia? The first time I saw her hairdo I thought she was wearing some kind of new age earmuffs but maybe that was just me. Lucas actually got the idea from turn of the century Mexican female revolutionaries called soldaderas. One in particular Clara de la Rocha was a key figure in the history of the revolution. The Hopi Indian may have contributed to the look too with a style known as a "squash blossom" which for some reason I thought was what the big chunky turquoise necklaces were called,at any rate the style seems a little cumbersome for battling purposes.
