Who knew that there is a North American Wife Carrying Championship? I did not know, in fact I thought that was a Finnish thing,but as it turns out Finland is where the World Wife Carrying Championship takes place. This year's North American winning couple was from Delaware,they finished the 278 yard obstacle course in 55.95 seconds. For their trouble they won six cases of beer,bragging rights,qualified for next year's championship is Finland and five times the wife's weight in cash.
