What's In a Name?

Supposedly names are part of what makes people who they are though I've never given that school of thought much weight, but with that thought in mind how and who do you  think names things like drugs? Did Fleming when he discovered penicillin from mold immediately know it should be called penicillin? The reason I'm wondering is they are having great success with a new treatment for COVID-19 but for some reason they've named it Bamlanivimab which other than being hard to pronounce also puts one in mind of the chorus of a rock song,or maybe an evil incantation of a magic spell and as long as they were going for the unusual why didn't they just go ahead an make it a palindrome?  Oh well,as long as it is helping people it really doesn't matter and maybe all the good names were taken.
