Several years ago (it seems like it could be 100,but it must be less since I only started the blog in October of 2011) I wrote a blog about an innovation in running shoes. I thought the Five Finger shoes sounded like a bad idea on many levels and never mind trying to get your toes to fit into the slots made for your toes. Several major shoe companies came out with their own rendition of barefoot running shoes,no one was willing to chance passing up a market, even if they had to peddle worthless crap. A class action lawsuit was settled early last month because it was found that Vibram had deceived consumers by claiming the Five Finger shoes would decrease foot injuries and strengthen foot muscles when in truth the shoes were nothing more than a foot condom. A similar lawsuit (different manufacturer) happened in 2012 with Shape-ups claiming to promote weight loss and toning. The old adage "if it sounds to good to be true,it probably is" still applies today, maybe ever more so. A little good sense goes a long way,or maybe a more apt saying would be "a fool and his money are soon parted"?
