In honor of Mother's Day I decided to post some fun facts for all to enjoy. In the majority of languages the word for mother begins with an M. Flowers are a popular gift on Mother's Day and carnations have a particular meaning as it is said they were made from the tears Mary wept at the feet of Jesus on the day he was crucified. Pink and red carnations are given to living mothers while white ones are for the mothers that have passed away. Mother's Day tradition in the former country of Yugoslavia had the children tie their mothers up and the only was they would set her free was for her to pay them with treats. Enjoy your day mothers!
