An Iowa woman decided to use puppies in place of flowers for herself and her bridesmaids to carry at her wedding. The puppies were supplied by AHeinz57 Pet Rescue and Transport. The idea was to use her wedding to bring attention to the pets in need of homes (adopt not shop) and apparently it worked as the shelter had an influx of adoption applications. I'm all for it as long as the bride dispenses with throwing the bouquet! I don't know if this was the first wedding to use puppies instead of flowers as I did find photos of another wedding party using puppies so maybe it will catch on and help find homes for the pet over population.
