Party Animal

So far I haven't been at all tempted  by Alexa, the Amazon voice controlled personal assistant. Seriously does a person really need to have another way to look up stuff online, play music, turn lights off/on or control the thermostat? Plus after reading about a young man's device running amok while he was out with friends doesn't exactly instill confidence. A 29 year old man in Germany came home to find the neighbors had called police because Alexa had decided to play music loud at 1:50 a.m.-3 a.m. The police had a locksmith open the door only to find the apartment empty. The man contacted Amazon about the mishap and they determined Alexa must have been activated by a 3rd party mobile phone and even paid the charges for the locksmith. To sum up,it seems less complicated to do these minor things without the help of a device that might take a cue from a stranger than it would be to make sense out of what went on behind closed doors while you are otherwise engaged.
