Live Bait

In a Jonah moment a 51 year old dive tour operator out of Port Elizabeth,South Africa was snorkeling when he was swallowed by a Bryde's whale during a sardine feeding frenzy. The diver didn't panic but prepared himself for the whale to dive by holding his breath and assuming the whale would dive down and spit him out at a great depth (they can dive for 5-15 minutes to around 1,000 feet deep). To the divers surprise and relief the whale must have realized he didn't want what he had in his mouth so he opened it and the man was washed back out unscathed. He said it was a once in a lifetime experience but not one he wanted to repeat.
