If you ever get an invitation to the Donner party it's one you'll want to turn down,never mind,old joke. Even if you had heard that one before did you know that Abe Lincoln almost joined the Donner party on their travels? Imagine how different things might be today had his wife Mary not refused to go. Some handwritten (by Lincoln) documents from when he served with one of the survivors (James Reed) is a muster list written by Private Lincoln in the Black Hawk War of 1832.
