Good ol' Saint Patrick,or was he so good? To set the record straight he didn't drive snakes out of Ireland because there were no snakes,though he did play other parts in the history of Ireland. Some like to credit him with bringing Christianity but that process took centuries plus St Patrick was also known for taking part in Paganism. Probably the most peculiar part of history associated with the Saint is St. Patrick's Purgatory where it is claimed Jesus showed him a glimpse of the underworld. To this day people travel to the site for a spiritual challenge including fasting and primitive surroundings that lasts for three days . No tourists,or cell phones for that matter,are allowed.
