The phrase,"Revenge is a dish best served cold",is French from the 1800s and if you're unclear on the meaning it's giving time to plot your vengeance,letting the fear of vengeance marinate and of course not knowing when revenge might be served. First I would like to say anyone who steals someone else's food is pretty damn low. This woman had problems with a colleague stealing her eggs that she kept in the break room fridge for something quick to fix when she got hungry. So she left a little note for the thief saying they were not chicken eggs and not to eat them,and if you did eat them to see her immediately for the antidote. End of problem! Clever lady.
