In an apparent bid for the wackiest state on the mainland Washington state said to Florida,"That's nothing,hold my beer." A Yakima man was startled by a bursting aluminum can he was loading into his fridge so he drew the handgun he had stashed in his waistband and opened fire on the unsuspecting appliance. He then ran outside and started screaming that someone was trying to shoot him so the neighbors called the police. When the police questioned him he said the people living in his basement had tried to shoot him but that story fell flat when the police realized there was no basement. The police then wanted to know where he got the gun,he said he found it two weeks earlier in the middle of the road which explained how someone in his condition came to have a gun. The man was arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm plus unlawful discharge of a firearm. It could have been was worse but only the fridge was injured.
