Disclaimer: I'm just passing this along in case it helps someone not because it has worked for me. According to a communication coach the cure to nix overthinking is simple,keep your eyeballs still. The logic behind the advice is that your brain needs your eyeballs to be moving if it is going to think and fetch memories. Another therapist agreed that not moving the eyes minimizes the bilateral brain processing/thoughts. The reason I'm not sold on the "cure" is my overthinking usually happens at night when my eyes are closed and not moving though I will make sure they aren't moving next time just to confirm my theory.
