As an acknowledgement of Pride Month Maplewood Township in New Jersey unveiled a rainbow striped crosswalk at a major intersection and plan to make it permanent to show support for the LGBT community. They aren't the first city to present rainbow crossings as Philadelphia, San Francisco,and West Hollywood have previously installed the colorful crosswalks to express inclusion and diversity. I think they are a great idea,not only for the reasons these cities have installed them but it seems like they would make people more aware of the crosswalk compared to the basic white on black striped crossings.
