Indirect Donation?

Two jewelers in India have broken the Guinness World Record for most diamonds in a ring. The previous record was set in 2015 with a peacock ring containing 3,827 diamonds. The new record holder is a lotus flower featuring 6,690 diamonds set in 18 karat rose gold weighing in at over 58 grams (more than a golf ball) and costing $4,116,787. The lotus flower was chosen to raise awareness of the importance of water conservation and the fame that comes with the record they hope will draw others to their cause. I can't help but wonder what good could have been done directly with that kind of money and though the ring is decidedly pretty both the weight and design would make wearing it even for a short time impractical.
