McWhat?

As branding goes the golden arches are pretty much recognized worldwide though there are a few rare exceptions that don't feature the iconic arches. One example goes back to the 1986 World Expo in Vancouver,B.C. where a McDonald's was located on a barge, not only was the location rare but the decor was also unusual. Some of the un-McDonald's features were real house plants, wooden floors, walls covered with fine art and instead of the kitchen being to focal point it was out of view and the meals were delivered via a conveyor belt which was a high tech feature for 1986. The staff's uniforms were nautical themed and they even operated a mini tug to patrol the surrounding water for litter. Unfortunately the life of this unique McDonald's ended with the Expo and regardless of attempts to resurrect the McBarge it is still sitting idle.
