Thirsty?

With summertime comes summer treats, watermelon, picnics and of course lemonade. Lemonade was introduced in the 17th century in Paris,I was going to add that of course at that time there was no ice but since most beverages in Europe seldom contain ice that goes without saying. Pink lemonade on the other hand has a rather unappealing beginning. Traveling circuses were a big attraction in the early 20th century and lemonade was usually available at one of the  concessions. A quick thinking concessionaire ran out of water to make lemonade but instead of putting up a sold out sign and calling it a day,he grabbed the laundry water which was tinted pink from rinsing pink leotards and used that to make his lemonade re-branding it as pink lemonade,a combination of strawberries and lemons. As Paul Harvey would say,"now you know the rest of the story."
