Oh Honey

This occurrence puts me in mind of the Phoenix though in this case the bees were rising from volcanic ash instead of their own ash. Fifty days after an eruption on the island of La Palma in the Canary Islands last September thousands of bees arose from the ashes. Out of the population of around 80,000 people about 100 of them are beekeepers since bees are vital to their ecosystem plus the sale of their honey helps the economy.  The bees instinctively sealed themselves inside their hives using propolis,a sticky substance gathered from plants that is usually used to keep rain out of the hive instead they used it to keep the noxious fumes and heat from harming them, and they dined on the honey in the hives for sustenance.
