Throughout the ages animals have played pivotal roles in wartime. In 1941 a Great Dane named Juliana had the presence of mind and a bladder full of urine when a German bomb came through the roof of her owner's home. She simply walked over and urinated on it which extinguished the device before it could do more harm. She received a medal for her effort but wait there's more! In 1944 she saved her owner once again by alerting him when a fire broke out in his shoe shop. In spite of her life saving skills someone slipped her poison through the mail slot in 1946 and she died.
