Have you ever wondered how the generations are named or who does the naming? For the most part it's a crap shoot with the exception of Baby Boomers who were named by the government after a census showed a boom in post WWII births, of course the three generations before the Boomers had names but there wasn't any exacting way to determine how they came by their names. The Boomer generation was the first to be targeted by ad agencies trying to find ways to appeal to their buying power and oddly enough the ad agencies were also responsible for naming the generations from then on. The how of the naming boils down to the agencies throwing out names until a name sticks so the logic of the process is... there is no logic behind it!
