Elephant Threat

Conservation efforts have succeeded in a not so good way for elephants in Botswana, the country has about 130,000 more elephants than it has space for so now the president of Botswana is trying to encourage hunting as he has given 8,000 elephants to Angola and offered Mozambique hundreds in an effort to bring the number of animals to a more livable level. The elephants are trampling/eating the crops, causing property damage and trampling residents. When Germany and England expressed their concerns over trophy hunting Botswana responded by offering to send 20,000 to Germany and 10,000 to England to give them a taste of living alongside the huge animals. I feel terrible for the elephants but we have a similar problem at the coast with the deer/elk population so I can see both sides.
